Back to School

When: Monday for grades 1-5 and 6 and 9. Tuesday for grades 7 & 8. Kindergarten staggered the rest of the week. (Note that Four Seasons Elementary will start one day late due to construction.)

West County Chamber 'Tuesday Topics' Breakfast

When:  Tuesday, 8 a.m.
Where: , 329 Gambrills Rd., Gambrills.

Details: The chamber will host Ron Wineholt of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, who will talk about the Supreme Court decision on health care and its impact on businesses. Cost is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.

When: Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Western District Police Station, 8723 Telegraph Rd., Odenton.

Details: The town center committee will hold its August meeting, agenda looks pretty light. It may be a good time to get an update on the status of projects in the town center.

Arundel Football vs. Annapolis.

When: Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Annapolis High School.

Details: The Wildcats start their quest for a state title when they open on the road at Annapolis.

Old Mill Football vs. Broadneck

When: Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Where:

Details: The defending state champions get started against Broadneck, a regional champ from 2010. Will the Patriots open looking as strong as they did last year? And will the Bruins rebound after a down season?
