Three People Displaced After Millersville Home Caught On Fire

Two fire departments responded to a report of a Millersville home on fire. Three people have since been displaced.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — An attic fire broke through the roof of a Millersville home the evening of Sunday, Sept. 1. The two-story single-family home did have smoke detectors, but they did not activate because the fire was contained in the attic.

Anne Arundel County firefighters responded to the call at approximately 8:14 p.m. An occupant was in the home, located at 612 Wheat Mill Court East, but was unaware of the fire until neighbors reached out. More than 30 firefighters from two departments responded to the call and it took 10 minutes for them to reign in the blaze.

Three adults have since been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit. There were no injuries.
