Two People Displaced After Severn Home Catches Fire

The Aug. 25 fire occurred in the home's attic and was extinguished in 15 minutes.

SEVERN, MD — A fire broke out Sunday afternoon at a home in Severn while the occupants were present. No one was injured, however. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to the first Aug. 25 at 7875 Chalice Road at approximately 2:49 p.m. More than 30 firefighters from Fort Meade and Anne Arundel fire departments responded and had the house fire under control in 15 minutes.

Several neighbors initially reported smoke coming out of the home's attic. Neighbors also alerted the occupants of the home and helped them escape without injury. They have since been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
