Water Main Repairs In Severn Could Shut Off Service

SEVERN, MD — Residents in parts of Severn could lose water service Thursday while a broken main is repaired on New Disney Road. The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works Bureau of Utility Operations is working to repair a water main in Severn damaged earlier in the day by a contractor, according to a news release.

During repairs, there will be no through traffic on New Disney Road from Disney Estate Circle to LaSalle Place. Drivers traveling from Annapolis Road will be routed to Ridge Road to Severn Road to Carriage Drive, which will bring them to New Disney Road.

Repairs may affect rush hour traffic. Anyone driving in this area is urged to use caution.

The water main break will also cause a temporary water service interruption for residents in this area. Repairs are expected to be completed by 7 p.m., the county said.
