Passenger Flees Waugh Chapel Traffic Stop, Officers Find Him With Loaded Gun: Police

A Waugh Chapel traffic stop led to a gun arrest, police said. Authorities accused the passenger of trying to run away from officers.

GAMBRILLS, MD — Police announced that they arrested a passenger accused of fleeing a Gambrills traffic stop on Monday. Authorities said they located a loaded gun on the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Xavier Terrill Bryant of Waldorf.

Around 4:20 p.m, an officer stopped a green Toyota Camry on New Market Lane near Waugh Chapel Road. That's located in The Village at Waugh Chapel shopping center along Maryland Route 3.

Officers alleged that the passenger exited the sedan as it came to a stop. The Anne Arundel County Police Department reported that Bryant's weapon was a .22-caliber Rohm RG23 revolver.
