Woman Killed, 4-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Car Crash: Police

The incident occurred Monday at approximately 3:54 p.m. at Town Center Boulevard and Charter Oaks Boulevard in Severn.

SEVERN, MD — A 33-year-old Severn woman was killed and a four-year-old passenger seriously injured when the Kia Forte the woman was driving hit the curb and then struck a tree. The incident occurred Monday at approximately 3:54 p.m. at Town Center Boulevard and Charter Oaks Boulevard.

Peggie Elisabeth Chapman was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy. The four-year-old passenger was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be the driver of the Kia failing to remain in a single lane. Speed does not appear to have contributed to this crash. Drug and alcohol use are pending toxicology results. The traffic safety section is handling the crash investigation.
