• Chief Yamada resigns from Montgomery County Police effective immediately (bethesdamagazine.com) — Montgomery County Police Chief Marc Yamada has abruptly resigned after more than two years leading the department, and an acting chief has been appointed while officials search for a permanent replacement. Yamada, who lives in Olney with his family, previously held several key leadership roles in the department, and county leaders say police operations and public safety will continue uninterrupted during the transition.
