Randallstown Fire: Officials Say At Least 40 Displaced, 6 Injured

An apartment fire in Randallstown Wednesday left dozens without a place to live, the Baltimore County Fire Department reported.

RANDALLSTOWN, MD — More than 40 residents were displaced after a fire spread through an apartment building Wednesday morning in Randallstown, officials said. Six people were injured, including a firefighter, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Flames were shooting through the roof when crews were dispatched to the fire in the 3400 block of Barry Paul Road at 2:16 a.m on Wednesday, May 29.

Commanders called for a second alarm and searched the building to ensure nobody was trapped.

After 3 a.m., firefighters battled the blaze from the exterior of the structure, and by 3:33 a.m., it had been declared knocked. By 4:40 a.m., officials had declared the blaze under control.

None of the injuries associated with the incident was believed to be life-threatening, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department, which stated:

  • Three people were taken to Sinai Hospital with serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
  • A firefighter from the Baltimore County Fire Department was taken to Northwest Hospital with minor injuries.
  • Two people were taken to Sinai Hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.
