Chef at Owings Mills Wegmans Lives in Reisterstown

Wegmans at Foundry Row will feature a culinary team led by a Reisterstown resident, according to a statement from the company.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — When the Wegmans at Foundry Row opens next month, a Reisterstown chef will be overseeing its culinary team.

Executive Chef Tom Schwarzweller, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, will manage the staff cooking up burgers, salads, soups, sandwiches and sides at the Wegmans in Owings Mills, according to a statement from the company. His culinary team of 105 people will prepare foods for the self-serve bars and also fill custom orders.

Schwarzeller has worked for Wegmans since 2005. He was the executive chef at the store's first location in Maryland—Hunt Valley. Then he led the team at the Columbia store before landing closer to home at the Owings Mills location. Formerly, he was the executive chef at the Radisson Hotel at Cross Keys in Baltimore.

According to a statement from Wegmans, Schwarzeller lives in Reisterstown, where he is an avid gardener.

Wegmans at Foundry Row will open Sept. 18 at the intersection of Reisterstown and Painters Mill roads.
