CVS Looking to Move Reisterstown Location
The owners of the CVS at Reisterstown and Hammershire roads are looking to move the store to the corner of Reisterstown and E. Cherry Hill roads and expand square footage.

CVS hopes to move its Reisterstown store to a new location further north on Reisterstown Road.
Developers are seeking zoning changes to allow for a 13,225 square-foot CVS with 67 parking spaces to be built on the corner of Reisterstown and E. Cherry Hill roads, project representatives said. Plans were presented to the Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Coordinating Council on Monday, Aug. 6.
“The lease is going to be up in the next couple of years,” said Rob Gothier, president of J.C. Bar Properties. “We need to find a larger location.”

The existing CVS, at the corner of Reisterstown and Hammershire roads, is roughly 8,000 – 9,000 square feet. The aisles in the store are small, and the parking lot’s 29 spaces are all compact spaces, Gothier said. The proposed new location would have full spaces.
The new CVS would have two drive-thru lanes, access to E. Cherry Hill Road and would connect to the adjacent Susquehanna Bank parking lot, said Mickey Cornelius, senior vice president at The Traffic Group.

There are currently three houses on three parcels that would be knocked down to make way for the new CVS, said Chris Mudd, an attorney that represents one of the property owners. Property owners are negotiating agreements with the developer, Mudd said, and CVS is prepared to sign an agreement to not expand further once the store is built.
The community council's members are concerned about extra traffic the new location might generate at the busy intersection. Cornelius said the pharmacy doesn’t generate much rush hour traffic and the access to E. Cherry Hill Road should cut down on Reisterstown Road traffic.
The Baltimore County Council votes on proposed zoning changes on Tuesday, Aug. 28. Previously this summer, the community council voted not to support rezoning on the three parcels where the CVS would be built. With concerns about traffic from residents near the proposed site, the community council voted to remain opposed to the project.
