Scout Sunday Mass at Sacred Heart Church

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) annually celebrates its founding in the USA on February 8th 1910 based on the program started by Lord Baden Powell in England.  Scout Sunday was added in the middle 1940s and is always the Sunday preceding February 8th.

BSA is non-sectarian, respecting of all religions and a belief in God, everyone is welcome to celebrate as scouts at this Catholic Mass.  To those who are not Catholic, welcome to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, this is a great opportunity to learn about Catholic Mass with your Scouting Friends.

The Boy Scout Law says that a "Scout is Reverent" and Scouts of all types promise to "Do Their Duty To God". The Scout Sunday tradition was started to make people in houses of worship aware of Scouting, and to allow Scouts a public opportunity to love out their "Duty to God" pledge.  These values strengthen youth character in family, community, and faith.
