Fire At Soldiers Delight Reported Tuesday
A large fire broke out on Deer Park Road in Owings Mills Tuesday, officials said.
OWINGS MILLS, MD — A wildfire broke out at Soldiers Delight Natural Environmental Area Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.
Woods and a large field were ablaze in the 5100 block of Deer Park Road, the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighters Association reported after 1 p.m.
The Soldiers Delight Natural Environmental Area was evacuated so water tankers and fire crews could respond, officials said.

Soldiers Delight is about 1,900 acres of grassland and savanna atop oceanic rock known as serpentine.
This is not the first time a wildfire has been reported in the area. In January 2020, Baltimore County firefighters handled a 10-acre brush fire at Soldiers Delight.
