Jemicy School Names New Associate Director of Development

Jemicy School in Owings Mills has named Rebecca Cowan Fisher ‘75 associate director of development. Fisher — a former Jemicy student, parent, and teacher — will be responsible for coordinating special events and will be involved in all aspects of development, including the capital campaign.

 

Fisher brings more than 20 years of experience in education. Prior to joining Jemicy, Fisher was a private tutor, working with children with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. She also previously taught at Jemicy for 10 years and served as a faculty representative on the Board of Trustees.

The position of associate director of development was newly created as part of Jemicy’s Development Department expansion plan. The school is in the midst of planning its 40th anniversary celebration, which kicks off in September.

Founded in 1973, Jemicy School provides a highly individualized, flexible, and challenging education for above-average to gifted college-bound students with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences. Jemicy educates students between the ages of six and eighteen on two campuses, the Lower/Middle School and the Upper School.

 

“We are thrilled to welcome Beckie to our team at Jemicy,” said Jane Evans, director of development. “Beckie’s experience in education and her history with Jemicy are tremendous assets to our school. We look forward to working together to enhance our development efforts.”
