Liberatore's Switching Owners But Not Cuisine, To Be 'American Bistro'
The longtime dining option in New Town prepares to sell, while the area's community association wonders whether its monthly meeting will have to be held elsewhere.

Within the next few weeks, new owners will run , the Italian, bistro-style mainstay in the New Town Shopping Center, said Bryan Reynolds, the restaurant's manager.
It will be called "American Bistro," he said, and will continue to serve classic menu items. In fact, the switch might be hard to detect until its name is removed from the white-fenced overhang come March 7, he said.
"(It's) still Italian, it's the same staff," he said. "We're staying open throughout."
According to an announcement on the front door of the restaurant, Shiva Prasai, Shriadhar Baniya and Gyan Rimas, of Shree Gasneshjee, Inc., have submitted an application for a Class B liquor license. The hearing is at 1 p.m. on March 7 with the Liquor License Commissioners for Baltimore County at 111 W. Chesapeake Ave, Room 106 in Towson.
Liberatore's has been providing a venue for get-togethers for almost 16 years, and a place for the Owings Mills New Town Community Association to meet monthly at no charge for the last three years, said Daniel Bralove, president of the association.
"Our Association hopes to build a strong partnership with the owners of the new restaurant however, it will take some time to build up the relationship to where it once was with Liberatore's," wrote Bralove in an e-mail. "We hope to be able to continue to hold our monthly meetings at the same location, but that is yet to be determined."
Residents interested in an update on the meeting location can do so by signing up for a free user ID at the association's website, he said.
