Local Advocates to Meet with County Planning Officials

Reisterstown and Owings Mills officials will meet Baltimore County Department of Planning officials and others in January.

Local advocates and business representatives will meet with Baltimore County officials in January to discuss the future of Reisterstown.

Tony Baysmore, special assistant to County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, said at Monday night’s Reisterstown Improvement Association meeting that planning director Andrea Van Arsdale wants to have a meeting in January with Reisterstown officials.

“Everything is just Owings Mills, Owings Mills the past few months,” said RIA President Glenn Barnes, who has been trying to set up a meeting with county officials for months.

Barnes says Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Chamber of Commerce President Brian DeLeonardo and Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Coordinating Council President George Harman will join him. Barnes has prepared talking points for the meeting and hopes to discuss the status of the county’s pilot program for Reisterstown, which could help expand uses of historic buildings.
