Man Charged With Murdering Pastor On Liberty Road: Report

Police said that the suspect in the weekend stabbing is being held without bail.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD - A Milford Mill man is being held without bail in the stabbing death of a man on Liberty Road, according to police.

Daniel Patrick Degoto, 41, of the unit block of Kelly Court, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the Saturday afternoon deadly confrontation in a parking lot in Baltimore County, officials reported.

Authorities said that Degoto turned himself in at the Howard County Detention Center after hitting another man with his vehicle in the 7800 block of Liberty Road, then getting out of his car and stabbing him.

He allegedly confessed to the crime, accusing the victim of spiritually controlling Degoto's wife, WBAL reported.

The victim - Raphael M. Happy-Ikenwilo, 53, of the 4300 block of Glenmore Avenue - was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased Saturday afternoon following the incident, officials reported.

Degoto has been denied bail and is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center, officials reported. He is slated to appear in Baltimore County District Court on Sept. 15 for a preliminary hearing.
