On Sunday, November 10, 2013, at 8 p.m., Maryland Public Television will continue its annual tradition of saluting veterans from all branches of the military with a live broadcast of musical performances and short vignettes honoring some of the men and women who currently serve in the U.S. armed forces. Titled America’s Veterans: A Musical Tribute, the one-hour program will be telecast in honor of the national observance of Veterans Day. The special will repeat on the same evening at 11 p.m. and on November 11 at 2 a.m.
This year’s performers will include Darin Atwater, best known for his role as conductor and composer of Soulful Symphony, along with the U.S. Air Force Band and the Airmen of Note, the premier jazz ensemble of the U.S. Air Force. The tribute will be hosted by Washington’s WRC-TV news anchor Aaron Gilchrist.
