New Development Bets on Owings Mills Growth
Groveton Green Apartments, which is in line to be the first Gold LEED certified development in Owings Mills, held a grand opening ceremony Thursday afternoon.
The Fore Property Company has been waiting a long time to invest in Owings Mills.
“We have been wanting to come to Owings Mills for 25 years,” said Fred Karem, a partner with Fore. He was joined by elected officials and business leaders at a ribbon cutting for Groveton Green Apartments, a new community which is on track to become the first Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified development in Owings Mills.
“This represents a $35 million private investment in Baltimore County,” said County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. He was joined by Councilwoman Vicki Almond, Councilman Ken Oliver and Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brian Ditto in Thursday’s ribbon cutting ceremony.

The luxury development, located off of Lakeside Boulevard, was built to LEED Gold standards, and is awaiting the certification, according to Fore Property Company Jim Sullivan. LEED Gold construction means residents will enjoy energy savings through energy efficient windows, appliances and lights, high efficiency HVAC units and enhanced insulation.
Kamenetz told the crowd Thursday that Owings Mills was on the rise.
