Civil Trial For Key Bridge Collapse Indefinitely Delayed: Report
The civil trial stemming from the March 2024 collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge was postponed following last-minute settlements.
BALTIMORE, MD — The civil trial over the March 2024 collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge was postponed Monday after a slew of last-minute settlements, according to the Associated Press.
U.S. District Judge James Bredar was scheduled to hear opening statements but opted to indefinitely delay the trial's start to weigh whether additional legal arguments could lead to new settlements.
The ruling followed a Sunday request by the owner and operator of the Dali cargo ship that collided with the Key Bridge.
