New Flea Market Starts Saturday

A new flea and farmers market kicks off Saturday at the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department.

Longtime resident knows he can’t single-handedly transform the area, but he knows that every little bit helps.

“There’s not a lot we can do to improve things in the community individually, but something like this is kind of a no-brainer,” he said.

The ‘no-brainer’ he refers to is the new Glyndon Flea and Farmers Market, which kicks off at 7 a.m. Saturday at the .

Spaces are available for $20 the morning of the market at 6 a.m. Harmon is also offering spaces for free to community non-profits, religious groups, Boy Scouts and similar organizations. He also hopes to get local farms involved in the market. The fire department will be fundraising by selling hamburgers and hotdogs.

“You’ll see it catch on,” Harmon said. “I’m trying to establish something that will make its mark in the community.”
