New Owings Mills Boulevard Extension to Open Monday

County Executive Kevin Kamenetz will open the new extension in a Monday morning ceremony.

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz is scheduled to open a mile-long extension of Owings Mills Boulevard from Lyons Mill Road to Winands Road in a ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m.

The ceremony will take place at Owings Mills Blvd. and Lyonswood Drive between Lyons Mill and Winands Roads.

The road is going to be open to traffic following the ceremony.

A press release from Kamenetz’s office on Friday afternoon said construction started two years ago and was a $14 million county-funded project.

This is the first phase of a road extension that is scheduled to connect Owings Mills to the Liberty Road business corridor.

The two business communities are now going to be linked together, and now this extension will lessen some of the traffic congestion on neighboring streets and provide future road capacity.
