Owings Mills Tech Powerhouse Ranks on Inc.'s List of Fastest Growing Companies

An IT company headquartered in Owings Mills made the 2016 Inc. 5000 list.

Panthera Technologies, located in the 10400 block of Mill Run Circle in Owings Mills, came in at No. 309 on the magazine's list of the fastest growing 5,000 companies.

“The 2016 Inc. 5000 are the superheroes of the U.S. economy," according to Inc. magazine, which publishes the list of the top 500 companies in its September issue.

Owings Mills-based Panthera provides IT advisory, cloud, cyber security and managed services. It provides an outsourced IT department for various businesses and has been in operation since 2012.

In 2015, Panthera Technologies had a revenue of $2.3 million. It grew 1,270 percent in the past three years.

Running the gamut, the top 10 Maryland companies on the Inc. 5000 list have annual revenue ranging from about $2 million to more than $40.

Methodology: Companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2012. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of Dec. 31, 2015. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2012 is $100,000; the minimum for 2015 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue.
