Owings Mills, MD (June 25, 2012) – Full-color marketing banners have been installed and now adorn the eight-story parking garage at Metro Centre at Owings Mills, a mixed-use, Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) currently under construction in the Owings Mills sub-market of Baltimore County. The developer of the TOD is Owings Mills Transit, LLC, and David S. Brown Enterprises, LTD is managing the project.

The banners include renderings portraying a ground-level view of the first phase of the office, retail and residential buildings that will be constructed along Grand Central Avenue, the project’s website address www.MetroCentreOM.com, as well as descriptive copy of the various elements and components that comprise the TOD.

Upon final completion, more than 1.2 million square feet of commercial office space; 300,000 square feet of complementary retail space; 1700 residential units; educational facilities totaling 120,000 square feet and a hotel component offering up to 250 rooms will be contained within Metro Centre at Owings Mills.

The Phase I program consists of up to 300,000 square feet of Class “A” loft office space, up to 100,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, as well as approximately 250 apartments. A six-story, 120,000 square foot building overlooking Interstate 795 - the future home of the largest branch of the Baltimore County Public Library and the Community College of Baltimore County - is approximately 50% completed.   

 Metro Centre at Owings Mills is positioned on a 45-acre parcel of land near the intersection of Interstate 795 and Painters Mill Road, with direct access to Exit 4 (Owings Mills Boulevard) of the Northwest Expressway and the Owings Mills metro stop. The project is also contained within the Owings Mills Town Center, one of only two designated by Baltimore County to encourage economic growth and activity.

A Transit Oriented Development is a high-density commercial office, retail and residential project located within one-third of a mile from a public transit station. It is designed to increase the location efficiency of the development by offering a transit point offering connections to a wide transportation system, with access via walking or bicycle. In addition, the project is typically defined as a mixed-use project offering a range of housing, dining, workplace and shopping choices as well as entertainment amenities.
