Chamber members and guests enjoy Maryland's time-honored tradition in Upperco.
Tables were covered in Old Bay and crushed crab shells as guests made conversation over the sound of mallets pounding. Blue crabs are a Maryland tradition as much as the social affairs where people eat them.
The Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Chamber of Commerce held its annual crab feast fundraiser on Tuesday, July 19, in Upperco. Business owners, employees and guests gathered at Arcadia Hall for summertime staples like fried chicken, corn on the cob and, of course, crabs.
This is the 21st year the chamber has been holding this event. According to executive director Brian Ditto, about 170 tickets were sold for this year’s event.

The crab feast provided the chambers newest president, Brian DeLeonardo a great chance to talk with members and guests. DeLeonardo, a Reisterstown attorney, served as the vice president for the chamber and recently replaced Erin Trudo, who held the position since February of this year. DeLeonardo said this event gave him the opportunity to meet with many business owners in one place for the first time as president of the chamber.
The event was sponsored by several local businesses and crabs were provided by Captain Bob's Seafood in Manchester.
