Introducing New ROMG Chamber President Brian DeLeonardo

New chamber president Brian DeLeonardo hopes to elevate the chamber and give the business community a collective voice.

The new president Brian DeLeonardo knows his organization covers a diverse area, but he says he is up to the challenge.

“Each region kind of has its own particular issues, but I think we’re encompassing enough to help have a hand in solving some of those,” he said.

DeLeonardo, who became vice president of the chamber in , stepped up last month after then-chamber president accepted a new job outside of the Reisterstown area and from her position. He hopes to continue a vision the two shared of expanding the chamber’s scope.

DeLeonardo has been a member of the chamber since 2003, when he opened his law firm on Main Street, DeLeonardo, Smith and Associates, where he practices criminal law, works with business, real estate and estate planning. He got involved with several chamber committees and served on its board of directors for three years before being elected vice president.

“I think it gives you a really good connection to other people in the business community,” he said. “It gives you a chance to know the people before you need their services. That’s a really good advantage to people who have businesses.”

He hopes to increase the chamber’s membership, get current chamber members more involved and reach out to former chamber members to bring them back. By keeping the chamber’s finger on the pulse of issues like , and the development at the , DeLeonardo hopes the chamber can be an advocate for the area and its diverse business issues.

“I really want to focus on being that voice for our members as well as the businesses as a whole,” he said.
