Quitting Smoking, The Holistic Way

Mark Raab was a 22-year smoker. It wasn’t going cold turkey or using Western medicine that helped him quit, it was a holistic approach that got him off cigarettes.

In July, he opened VapeXcape in Reisterstown to help others who are trying to find an alternative to smoking. The shop sells electronic cigarettes, essential oils, high-end diffusers, fine teas and other holistic products.

“We use essential oils and vaporization of essential oils in combination with teas to detox the body from smoking damage,” he said, a concept he and his business partner, Brian S. Lotterer, designed.

He and Lotterer designed the entire store and handpicked top-notch products they had used themselves.

For those looking to quit, Raab said electronic cigarettes have a success rate around 80 percent, much higher than that of nicotine replacement therapy or going cold turkey.
