Randallstown Boy Who Saved Grandparents From Fire Wins Top Award
A boy who saved his grandparents from a fire in Randallstown was given a special award at the BCFD 2019 commendation ceremony.

RANDALLSTOWN, MD — A Randallstown boy won the Citizen's Medal of Honor at the Baltimore County Fire Department's annual awards ceremony. The child saved his grandparents from the fire last spring, according to authorities.
D.J. Goodman crawled on the floor of his grandparents' home in the unit block of Charleswood Court on May 27, 2018, fire officials reported. He was 9 years old at the time and said he practiced what he had learned in school.
For his "heroic life-saving efforts with risk of serious injury," Goodman received the highest civilian award given out by the department, known as the Citizen's Medal of Honor.

He was one of many honored at the annual Baltimore County Fire Department ceremony held at Loch Raven High School on Tuesday, March 26.
