Randallstown Homicide Suspect Extradited from Michigan: Police
Deidra Veella Griffin was charged in July 1 shooting death of a man police say was her child's father.

A Michigan woman is being held without bail in Baltimore County in connection with the alleged murder of her former boyfriend in Randallstown, according to police.
Deidra Veella Griffin, 40, was taken into custody at her home in Bay City, Mich., in July and extradited to Maryland, police reported.
She is charged with first-degree murder and handgun violations in the shooting of Lonnie Bernard Paye Jr., 31, who was found dead from at least one gunshot wound at his Randallstown home before 8 p.m. on July 1, police said.

Paye lived in the 4300 block of Travancore Road, where officers said they were asked to check on him by someone who had not heard from him and wanted to make sure he was OK.
Police said Griffin, who lived in Maryland for several years, had been in a relationship with the victim, and the investigation led detectives to her.

During her arrest in Michigan, officials said they recovered evidence from the July 1 homicide and learned that there was a custody dispute between Griffin and Paye.
While pregnant with their child, Griffin had moved to Michigan, according to police, who reported their son is less than one year old.
Currently, Griffin is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, police reported.
