Randallstown Teacher Noted For Afterschool Program

The elementary school teacher from Randallstown will be honored for the Boys in the Good program.

OWINGS MILLS-REISTERSTOWN, MD - From Baltimore County Public Schools: Da’Nall Wilmer, Grade 5 teacher at Randallstown Elementary School and founder of the Boys in the Good leadership program, will be honored with a 2018 Impact Award by the Fashion Umbrella Foundation.

The award will be presented at the foundation’s gala to be held on Saturday, March 24 at the Columbus Center, 701 East Pratt St., Baltimore. More information about the event can be found on the Fashion Umbrella Foundation’s website.

Wilmer founded Boys in the Good in 2016. ‘Good’ stands for giving, optimism, originality, and determination. The weekly afterschool leadership development program serves boys in Grades 3 – 5. The initiative began approximately four years ago, when Wilmer discovered that most of his students did not own ties or know how to tie them. That led to a drive to secure ties for them and to Mr. Wilmer's Well-Dressed Workshop, GQ Tuesday (where students came to school dressed for success each Tuesday), and then to Boys in the Good.
