Ravens Cut Bernard Pierce After DUI
The Baltimore Ravens sever ties with third player arrested since January.

The Baltimore Ravens released running back Bernard Pierce the same day he was charged with driving under the influence in Towson.
Pierce, 23, is the third Raven to be released this off-season following an arrest.
“After a string of incidents last off-season, Baltimore has taken a zero-tolerance policy with players who have found themselves in trouble off the field this year,” according to BaltimoreRavens.com.

After Pierce was pulled over for speeding at 2 a.m. Wednesday and failed field sobriety tests, he reportedly asked that his DUI be “kept off the books,” according to ESPN. The sports network cited charging documents in which Pierce was quoted as saying: “Do you know what happened the last time a Ravens player got a DUI? I’m getting cut tomorrow, not like you care.”

Pierce admitted to drinking “three shots of Jack,” TMZ reported, and fumbled when asked what his weight was, first stating it was “530” and then correcting himself and answering “230.”
The running back had been a member of the Ravens since 2012.
