Reisterstown Homicide: 2 Teens Charged With Murder, Robbery

Two teens have been charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the death of a Reisterstown man.

REISTERSTOWN, MD — Two people have been charged in the death of a Reisterstown man who was found shot in a parking lot over the summer, police said Wednesday.

Gary Printice Melvin, 30, of the unit block of Brookebury Drive, was believed to have been targeted, according to investigators.

Police said he was discovered after 5 a.m. on Aug. 16 lying in a parking lot in the 11000 block of Reisterstown Road. Officials said he died after being taken to a local hospital.

Two people have been charged with murder in Melvin's death, according to police:

  • Marvin Louis Washington III, 18, of the 100 block of Baskerville Road of Reisterstown was arrested Sept. 2, police said. He was indicted on charges of first-degree murder; two counts of first-degree assault; armed robbery; robbery; theft from $1,500 to $25,000; using a firearm in a felony; loaded handgun on his person; handgun on his person; and possession of a firearm by a minor, according to court records.
  • Xavier Damon Byrd Jr., 17, of the 4100 block of Dudley Avenue in northeast Baltimore, was charged Oct. 14 with first-degree murder, armed robbery, using a firearm in a felony and first-degree assault, court records show.
