Reisterstown Road Needs Work Near Solo Cup Property, County Says
Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz told state transportation leaders yesterday that Owings Mills development would force road improvements.
Reisterstown Road and Painters Mill Road must be improved to accomodate traffic that will be generated by development in Owings Mills, The Baltimore Sun reported Friday.
Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, County Council members and others met with Transportation Secretary Beverley K. Swaim-Staley in Towson Thursday to ask for state assistance on the project, The Sun reported.
But the county does not want to widen Reisterstown Road -- instead, it wants to build parallel access roads on either side of the northwest corridor's main artery near Painters Mill Road. The county is not sure what that would cost.

If the roads were to be widened instead, the cost would be between $45 million and $50 million, according to The Sun.
