Honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, the local organizations presented 10 cars to area veterans this Veterans Day.

In honor of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, this Veteran’s Day, Heritage | MileOne Autogroup and nonprofit Vehicles for Change presented cars to 10 veterans from the area whose lives will be transformed by having access to personal transportation.

Congressman John Sarbanes, Baltimore County Executive John “Johnny O” Olszewski, Jr., and Carroll County Commissioner Ed Rothstein, who held a 30+-year military career, were on-site as the veterans, who represent the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps and National Guard and are residents of Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County, were awarded their cars.

Both Heritage | MileOne Autogroup and Vehicles for Change firmly believe that transportation can transform lives. Access to transportation gives the recipients the freedom to more easily get to their jobs, schools, grocery stores and health care facilities. They can also enjoy community and social activities such as sports programs for their children and attend their preferred place of worship.
