The 2026 Avena Maryland Italian Festival, presented by Jarrettsville Furniture and hosted by SIAB, will be held Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27, returning to the grounds of Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen. The fourth annual three-day festival will feature an extensive array of attractions. Highlights include live musical performances throughout the weekend, carnival rides and games, authentic Italian cuisine and beverages, cooking demonstrations, wine seminars, as well as numerous retail vendors and performance artists. Guests can also expect the return of VIP villas, appearances by Mario &amp; Luigi, and fireworks on both Friday and Saturday night. Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2026 festival will introduce an expanded Heritage Village, designed to immerse attendees in an experience inspired by the streets of Italy. Highlights will include a live cooking station, an Italian marketplace and vendors showcasing traditional foods and artisanal goods. 

The festival will run until 10 PM on Friday and Saturday. Military Night will be held on Friday, Sept. 25, and will feature a color guard presentation, a tribute to the Fisher House Foundation—a national nonprofit with headquarters in Rockville, Md. that supports military families—and a performance of the National Anthem. Active-duty service members, veterans and their families will receive 50% off admission.

The <a href="https://www.mdhomeandgarden.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Maryland Fall Home &amp; Garden + Craft Show</a> returns to the Maryland State Fairgrounds Cow Palace October 16-18 with more than 300 exhibitors, including more than 100 local crafters, plus home improvement experts, outdoor living inspiration, family-friendly hands-on activities and special appearances by Magnolia Network’s Maine Cabin Masters stars Chase Morrill, Ashley Morrill-Eldridge and Ryan Eldridge.
Event highlights include a family-friendly petting zoo, outdoor living displays by local landscapers, tiny home structures made from refurbished sea containers, festive and local gift shopping, kids programming and a new digital feature that allows attendees to save exhibitor information and show specials directly to their phones.

Kennedy Krieger Institute's beloved <a href="https://www.kennedykrieger.org/festivaloftrees" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Festival of Trees</a> is celebrating its 37th anniversary, returning to the Maryland State Fairgrounds from November 27-29. This event benefits the patients, students and programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute and ushers in one of the most magical times of the year for families across the region. 

Hundreds of designer-decorated trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses will be on sale and present throughout the Cow Palace, which will be converted into a dazzling winter wonderland for the weekend. The magic is back this year with holiday vendors, rides for kids, carnival games, entertainment, craft making, and all the trimmings for a fun-filled family weekend that benefits a great cause.

Kennedy Krieger Institute’s <a href="https://www.kennedykrieger.org/festivaloftrees/fun-entertainment/tinsel-on-tap" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Tinsel on Tap</a> returns for its second year on Saturday, November 28, bringing an adults-only evening of holiday fun to the Maryland State Fairgrounds. The festive 21+ pop-up party offers guests a chance to celebrate the season with friends while supporting the patients, students and programs of Kennedy Krieger Institute. 
Guests can enjoy signature holiday cocktails, beer and wine, along with holiday trivia, a DJ, dancing and a festive fashion contest. The evening will also feature holiday-themed entertainment and plenty of opportunities to get into the spirit of the season in a fun, adult-only setting.
