Santoni's Loses Power While Supplying Meals to MEMA
Santoni's Market has been supplying meals to people at the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) as they work hard to get Maryland through Hurricane Irene.
Despite losing most of their power supply this morning, Santoni's is still hard at work providing meals for the people at Maryland's Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) during Hurricane Irene.
Lou Santoni, owner of Santoni's says the loss of power will not impact their ability to supply food to the many people at MEMA. They do still have a limited amount of power and he expects energy crews to have the power back up in a couple hours.
"You get dry ice and work around it. Protecting the food is the most important part," he said.

Crew members have been coming in early to make sure they can get meals out quickly. The power loss this morning happened after they completed the food prep.
Santoni's has also supplied MEMA with food in the past. Lou Santoni said they have had a good relationship with the agency for years.
