Stevenson University Breaks World Record for Largest Exercise Ball Class
A sea of blue exercise balls on the Owings Mills campus added up to a Guinness World Record.
Hundreds of people helped break a world record Wednesday at Stevenson University, according to school officials.
Stevenson had been planning for months to hold an event at Mustang Stadium in an attempt to set a world record for the largest exercise ball class in history.
The previous record was 353 people, set in April 2014 in New York City when a group led by Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges held class outside the Today show at Rockefeller Plaza, according to the Daily Mail.

Stevenson University broke that record Wednesday, as nearly 400 participants worked out together on giant blue exercise balls at its campus in Owings Mills.
“With approximately 390 participants, Stevenson University now holds the record for the largest exercise ball class in history,” according to a report from Stevenson University. “Thanks to everyone who came out—and sweat it out—to be a part of this record-breaking event.”

The event also served as a fundraiser; to be part of the record-breaking activity, participants paid $5, which will go toward a group donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Stevenson wasn’t the only place breaking world records this week. On Cinco de Mayo, more than 25,000 donned sombreros for the occasion at an Angels game in Los Angeles, where they broke the world record for most people wearing sombreros gathered in one place, according to Bleacher Report.
