I am sure that I am not alone here in stating that Summer rocks! ย I am interested in learning what my neighbors love about summer besides the obvious, Bromeliad cleanses and Sun gazing.
So I'll go first.
1. Polka Dots. ย There is nothing that says I love summer more than a polka dot dress, skirt or pair of shorts...even better, a polka dot swim suit.
2. Summertime golf clothing. ย Who can get enough of golf shorts?ย
3. Bike Riding. ย What says Summer more than a day ofย family bike riding?
4. Barbecues. ย Pasta salad and grilled meats tend to be the Summer must haves at least once a week.
5. Amusement Parks. ย Now what's a Summer without a little messy hair, sun burn, expensive snacks and throat scratching screams?
6. Family Vacations.ย I love to visit family in the Summer; my children get an opportunity to play with cousins and plenty of pictures are taken.
*Remember, although Summer is a most enjoyable and carefree season, please remember that it is important to remember the following:
-Hydrate. If you are not a water drinker, opt for coconut water or watermelon.
-Sun Protection. I know you may think that sunblock is for new schoolers but it is important to protect your skin from the intense summer rays.
-Insects. ย Read up on common local insects that may make appearances at your next barbecue. Educate yourself on skin safe bug repellent and research indoor and outdoor insect repellents.ย
-Lastly, be sure to learn a little about plants in areas that you may visit with your family. ย Harmful plants are easily identified by their leaves and this could save you the trouble of a calamine lotion infused Summer.
Enjoy and maybe I'll see you around!
