Three Franklin Students Named National Merit Semifinalists
Three Franklin High School students are semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Three students have been named semifinalists in the 58th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, according to a Baltimore County Public Schools news release.
Countywide, 23 high school students were named semifinalists. Franklin's semifinalists are Keenan E. Albee, Rebekah P. Green and Erin M. Smith.
“We are so proud of these students,” said BCPS Superintendent Dallas Dance. “Their achievements demonstrate their dedication to learning and inspire all of us in Team BCPS to pursue excellence.”

High school juniors from across the country applied for the 2013 scholarships by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NSMQT) in 2011. Those who advance to the finals compete for 8,300 scholarships, worth more than $32 million.
