WATCH: Community Speaks Out on Foundry Row

A packed Pikesville High School auditorium became yet another battleground in the Owings Mills development debate Thursday.

Residents, community advocates and developers detailed reasons why they support or oppose the proposed development at the Solo Cup plant in Owings Mills, which would be anchored by a Wegmans grocery store.

As officials from Greenberg Gibbons make plans for Solo Cup, Kimco and General Growth Properties hope to transform the to an outdoor retail center and David S. Brown Enterprises is moving forward with the transit-oriented . Both Kimco and David S. Brown officials have argued that Foundry Row would and create additional problems, such as traffic congestion.

Kimco officials and representatives of the firms that wrote retail and traffic studies for the Owings Mills mall project spoke at Thursday's hearing. Although officials from Greenberg Gibbons signed up to speak, no one stood up when their names were called.
