Water Main Forces Elementary School To Close Friday: BCPS

While Baltimore County Public Schools announced a delayed start Friday, students at one Randallstown area school had the day off.

RANDALLSTOWN, MD — A water main break has closed Church Lane Elementary School on Friday, Nov. 16. Baltimore County Public Schools said that after-school and evening activities at Church Lane Elementary would be canceled.

This is the second time this week that the school in the 3800 block of Fernside Road has been impacted by the utility problem.

Because of the water main break, Church Lane Elementary School dismissed early on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Weather has also prompted schedule disruptions to the school schedule in the days since.

Up to 5.5 inches of snow fell in parts of the county on Thursday, Nov. 15, which prompted schools in Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard and Montgomery counties to close for the day.

Public schools in Baltimore County also started late on Friday, Nov. 16, due to weather conditions.
