Young Chefs Turn Up the Heat with Culinary Creativity at The Classic Catering People’s Summer Camp

The temperature isn’t the only thing heating up this summer, as aspiring chefs test out new recipes at summer camp. Young chefs leave each evening session of The Classic Catering People’s Summer Camp, Cooking Camp Classic, with the meal they prepared to share with family. Classes taught by Chef Therese Harding are available for six weeks each June and July to curious chefs ages five to 16. Campers enjoy a dinner buffet with their classmates at the end of every class and receive a set of recipes, a recipe box and a camp t-shirt for participating.

Themed nights selected by past campers determine the dishes prepared by the participants. Favorites include Summer in Italy, “Pack Your Own” Lunch and Culinary Improv. So far this summer the young chefs have covered a range of fun recipes from Caribbean baked chicken and hot dogs in puff pastry, to arancini and rice krispie treat pops. Cooking Camp Classic provides kids with valuable kitchen skills while sparking their individual cooking creativity. This summer’s session ends July 23.
