I thought it would be fun to do an international book club for The Parkville Bookworm. We’d read books set in different countries. Sarah’s Key, by Tatiana de Rosnay, and Jeremy Mercer’s memoir Time was Soft There would be good choices for France- Time Was Soft There is about a bookstore in France, and Sarah’s Key is about an American expatriate in Paris who finds out about a horrific but little-known event in French history called Vel’ d’Hiv. I’d love to discuss Susan Maushart’s book The Winter of Our Disconnect for Australia. I can special order the books, and perhaps someone can bring in a dish from that particular country.
