Rushley Road Development Moves Toward Approval
Developer Craftsmen Inc. recently heard comments from county officials during a development plan conference.

The controversial Cromwell Ridge development on Rushley Road is headed toward the final stage of approval next month after a recent review by Baltimore County planning officials.
The developer, Craftsmen Inc., is scheduled to have a hearing before an administrative law judge on Feb. 9.
Last Wednesday Craftsmen met in a development plan conference in Towson to respond to commentary from county officials about the Cromwell Ridge plan.

Several governmental departments—including the Department of Environmental Protection & Sustainability, the Department of Permits, Approvals and Inspections and the Department of Planning—offered input during the meeting.
County officials agreed to move the development along to the final stage but required the developer to address several design issues at the Feb. 9 hearing.

Jenifer Nugent, a spokeswoman for the Baltimore County Department of Planning, said last week's meeting was the second step in the county's development process.
"This is the second step in getting reviewed and approved," Nugent said. "It gives the developer a chance to hear and respond to comments, then review the development plan before it goes before an administrative law judge."
In addition to representatives from Craftsmen, Inc., members of the Cromwood-Coventry Community Association, which has opposed the devleopment, were present for the conference but were not allowed to offer commentary.
