Parkville Man Died in Howard County Crash: Police

A Parkville man died Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Howard County, according to police.

Ronald Lavalle Lucas Jr., 42, of Parkville, was taken from the scene of the collision—the entrance road to MD 32 from US—to Howard County General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, police reported.

Lucas had been driving a white Toyota Corolla at 1:40 p.m. when his car left the ramp from US 1 onto westbound MD 32 and hit a tree, according to the report.

Preliminary investigation indicated that speed was the main factor in the crash, the report said.

Nobody was inside the car besides Lucas, police said.

The ramps for MD 32 at US 1 were closed until after 4 p.m. for police investigation, according to officials.
