Parkville Resident Recognized by The Arc Baltimore

The Arc Baltimore has presented a Special Appreciation Award to Kira Sekulow.

The Arc Baltimore has presented a Special Appreciation Award to Parkville resident Kira Sekulow. The Special Appreciation Award is given to an individual who renders truly outstanding assistance to The Arc Baltimore and the people with development disabilities whom The Arc supports.

For more than 10 years, Kira Sekulow has kept the memory of her foster son alive with a tribute appeal to her friends and family. Nigel Robinson was just a baby in her care for a relatively short time, but Nigel made a lasting impression on Kira.

To remember him each year, Kira raises funds that are used to present a financial gift to foster children from The Arc Baltimore who are “graduating” to adulthood. Kira then attends the annual foster parent appreciation dinner with her two adopted sons. Together, they present the checks and certificates to the graduates. It has become an important and meaningful tradition that recognizes the important milestone the young people are reaching in their lives.
