Woman Shot Near Parkville, Suspect In Custody: Police

PARKVILLE, MD — A shooting near Parkville Tuesday night is under investigation. Police said the victim and suspect knew one another, and the victim was hospitalized while the suspected shooter was in custody.

Just after 9 p.m., officers were called to the 2500 block of Wentworth Avenue for a woman who had been shot, according to police. She was immediately taken to a hospital, where authorities reported her condition was unknown as of 11:30 p.m.

Officials said the suspect, who was believed to have targeted the woman, was taken into custody at the scene. Police said a neighbor was assaulted during the incident as well.

The investigation is ongoing.
