Deadly Tractor Trailer Crash: I-95 Reopens In Baltimore County

Traffic was detoured from Interstate 95 north Tuesday morning near I-695 due to a deadly tractor trailer crash.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Officials say all lanes of Interstate 95 north were closed Tuesday morning for several hours due to a deadly crash near the King Avenue overpass. A tractor trailer was involved in the collision, which led to detours for three hours, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

The single-vehicle crash occurred after 2:30 a.m. on I-95 north past exit 64 for for I-695, state transportation officials reported. As of 6 a.m., officials said that all lanes had reopened in the area.

Nicole Comi, 31, of Baltimore, was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to authorities. Her body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Police said Comi was walking in the third lane of the four-lane highway around 2:30 a.m. when she was hit by a tractor trailer. Investigators say they do not know why she was walking in the highway.

Michael McDonough, 59, of Edgewood, was driving the tractor trailer, police said. He was uninjured in the crash.

Northbound traffic on I-95 was detoured onto I-695, officials say, and the express toll lanes remained open.
