TRAFFIC GROUP'S GUCKERT TO SPEAK AT ICSC'S RETAILGREEN CONFERENCE
Guckert will participate in Innovation 2014: The Best Ideas You Haven't Heard of Yet
Wes Guckert, President & CEO of The Traffic Group (TTG), will speak at the International Council of Shopping Centers’ (ICSC) RetailGreen Conference, being held in Phoenix, Arizona December 2-3, 2014.
Guckert will be participating in Innovation 2014: The Best Ideas You Haven’t Heard of Yet, which has become one of the annual highlight sessions at RetailGreen. This is the forum where Walgreens first introduced their Net Zero Energy Use store, Totally Green.
As the founder of TTG – one of the nation’s leading traffic engineering and transportation planning firms – Guckert has been a proponent of green engineering through the use of reuse and recycling, specifically when it comes to automated parking solutions in the United States.

“Cities are filled with old factories, warehouses, and other vacant buildings,” says Guckert. “Older, existing buildings can be converted into automated parking garages – not just new construction and development. Retrofitting and giving new life to these older buildings will provide two-to-three times the amount of parking and costs are minimal since no major rehab work needs completed and the technology can quickly and easily slide in.”
Continues Guckert, “The front of the building can even be saved and turned into restaurants and retail shops for increased revenue opportunities.”
