2 Children Found Dead In Baltimore County Traffic Stop: Police

The bodies of two youths were found in Essex, police reported.

ESSEX, MD — The bodies of two children were found during a traffic stop in Essex Wednesday night, according to police.

Joshlyn Johnson,7, and Larry O’Neil, 5, were identified Thursday as the deceased.

Officers from the Essex Precinct discovered the bodies when they stopped the driver after 11 p.m. on Eastern Boulevard near Wagners Lane, authorities said.

Police said the driver was taken into custody.

The bodies of the children were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and their deaths remain under investigation.

“The investigation into this atrocious crime will not stop until those responsible are brought to justice,” Baltimore County Police Chief Melissa Hyatt said in a statement. "Tonight, the entire Baltimore County Police Department grieves with the community over the unspeakable deaths of two innocent children.”
