2 Hospitalized, Dog Rescued After House Fire

Two adults were hospitalized over the weekend after a fire broke out in Middle River, officials said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Two adults were hospitalized after a house fire broke out early Sunday, authorities said.

The Baltimore County Fire Department said the fire was reported at the 100 block of Sunflower Lane in Middle River. Crews were able to extinguish the flames just before 11:30 a.m.

Officials said initial reports indicated that one person was trapped in the one-story home, but that they later rescued the individual.

The department said that two adults were hospitalized in stable condition.

One photo from the scene showed first responders using a specialized pet mask to administer oxygen to a dog rescued from the scene.

Neither the cause of the fire nor the extent of the damages were disclosed by authorities.
